Cover Reveal and Preorder for The Mosquito God
My next full-length novel, The Mosquito God: Theodore Roosevelt’s Spy Game, is now available for preorder, releasing on October 6, everywhere you shop for books.
In The Mosquito God, President Theodore Roosevelt dispatches his two best young spies, Max Bellefonte and Hannah Black, on a reconnaissance mission to Panama, a country Roosevelt wants desperately to add to his other trophies: Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Philippines.
Hannah and Max are to masquerade as happy honeymooners transiting the Isthmus on their way to San Francisco.
The problem is—they’re not married, and they’re far from happy. In fact, they are former lovers who still haven’t gotten past their spectacularly ugly breakup two years before. Just how much spying and how much bickering they’ll do while in Panama is a very open question. But somehow Hannah and Max will have to surmount the many challenges of spycraft—and survive each other—if Roosevelt’s dreams of conquest are to come true.
Readers can expect The Mosquito God to deliver a smart, sensitive, and funny tale of high-stakes statecraft and personal discovery. And history buffs will be treated to a glimpse into the now-obscure origins of the greatest engineering feat the world has ever known: the Panama Canal. (Hint: It was almost half-complete when the Americans took over.)
Stay tuned for more about the story, the research, and what to expect.
